Travel Grants Availability will be determined in February 2012 (Deadline later in the winter or early spring).

The Cornell Center for Comparative and Population Genomics (3CPG) will consider requests for funding to support travel of students, postdocs and faculty from 3CPG member labs to attend scientific meetings or to enroll in specialized courses or workshops outside of Cornell. The activity should be relevant to the mission of the Center, in the area of comparative and/or population genomics, and important to the education or professional advancement of the applicant. Because 3CPG travel awards are limited to one per 3CPG faculty member/PI lab per year (July 1 to June 30), all applications for funding must be submitted BY the 3CPG faculty member or a specific designate.

To request funding, the 3CPG Faculty Member must send an email with the following information to Emily Sampson at threecpg@cornell.edu, and the words “3CPG Travel Award Request” in the subject heading.

· Traveler's name, Traveler's position, PI's name

· Dates and titles of the conference/workshop and the travel purpose

· Estimated travel costs

· Other funds available or for which application is being made

The Travel Award committee will consider the relevance, nature, and size of the request. There is a limit of one travel award per PI lab per fiscal year. Travel award awards will be for up to $750, with the award amount depending on cost, need, and competition.
