Alon Keinan (The Robert N. Noyce Assistant Prof, Dept of Biological Statistics and Computational Biology, and 3CPG member) has been selected for the 2013 College of Agriculture and Life Sciences’ Research and Extension Award for Early Achievement. This award recognizes individuals who have shown extraordinary leadership, scholarship, and/or service to the College and University during their initial years at Cornell. The Awards Committee cited Alon’s impressive contributions to statistical genetics, including discoveries regarding human migration effects on variation and the design of new approaches for detecting the genetic basis for developmental disorders. Additionally, they recognized his many publications in top-tier journals and the exceptionally active research group that he has built. The award was presented to Alon by Dean Kathryn Boor on Monday, November 4, 2013 during an awards ceremony and reception in Biotech G10.
